The anchor is the symbol for 'HOPE'
"This certain HOPE of being saved is a strong and trustworthy ANCHOR for our soul, connecting us with God Himself behind the sacred curtains of heaven"
(Hebrews 6:19 - The Living Bible)
It is often difficult to know what to do for a family who has had a child diagnosed with cancer or who has lost their child to cancer. We want to reach out and help but we don’t know what to say or do. We are afraid of saying or doing the wrong thing. While each person and family is different, I think the family who is dealing with a difficult and emotional situation derives great strength from knowing those around them care. I try to send letters and cards, with a pin, to let a family know that they are not alone and their child is not forgotten. You may send these to a friend or relative in need or use them to compose a note of your own. Give them a pin to wear and wear one yourself to show that you are always thinking of them. Click on "Hugs of Hope" for sample letters you can use.
The "Hugs and Hope" website is a wonderfully spiritual and uplifting place. "The Hugs and Hope Club for sick kids" is a ministry devoted to encouraging children battling critical illnesses and their familites. If Kristina's Rainbows of Hope has inspired you, this may be a place where you can help another child through a dificult time.
